The Big Castlefield Cycle
Introducing our biggest fundraising event of the year! The Give Back Group (GBG) have been busy making preparations and planning a week-long event. Castlefield Co-owners will be taking part in a sponsored cycle from 'Manchester to Paris', all from the comfort of our Manchester office on a stationary bike. The aim is to cover a total distance of 424 miles over a period of 6 days!
Each day of the challenge will be centred on a variety of themes and the schedule will look something like this:
Friday 8th – ‘First day Friday’
- Cyclists will be able to look forward to a complimentary continental breakfast. The goal is 80 miles which would take us as far as Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
Monday 11th – ‘Movie Monday’
- Cyclists will be able to choose a movie/tv show to watch whilst they try to cover 74 miles and reach North Crawley by 5pm.
Tuesday 12th – ‘Tuesday treats’
- Co-owners are also hosting a cake sale to support the challenge. With some luck the cyclists should reach Clapham, adding another 74 miles.
Wednesday 13th – Hump day
- All cyclists will be rewarded with an order from Greggs if they manage to make it across the channel and reach Neufchâtel-en-Bray by the end of the day, bringing the total distance to 309 miles.
Thursday 14th – Bakery day
- We’ll be receiving an order from a very popular Manchester bakery to help boost morale and encourage our cyclists to reach Vigny, Val-d'Oise, leaving Friday cyclists with only 42 miles to complete the challenge!
Friday 15th – Finisher
- If all goes well, we should make it to Paris by 1pm! There are plans to celebrate at the end of the workday.
