Summary: Castlefield’s annual Activity Challenge featured co-owners raising money for charity by recording activities over a two-week period. Find out how co-owners fared and how much was raised for good causes in this piece.
In a continuation of a long-running Castlefield tradition, June saw the return of Castlefield’s Activity Challenge. The event, organised by the Give Back Group (Castlefield’s internal committee focused on supporting charitable causes), involved co-owners recording their activity hours over a two-week period.
After making a small donation as an entry fee, 19 Castlefield co-owners competed to see who could log the most hours of activity over the fortnight, with prizes awarded to the team and individual recording the greatest number of hours. A dedicated group was set up on activity-tracking app Strava, so co-owners could see who was in the lead and the activities being completed.
A GBG spokesperson said: “Previous versions of the challenge have involved fewer activities counting towards the total amount, so we were impressed by the range of activities recorded by co-owners, with training sessions for tennis, football, hockey, swimming and boxing taking place as well as sailing, horse riding and coasteering contributing to the final tallies.”
Our team winners for the event were Catherine, Ellie, Simon and Olivia, whose team averaged just over 15 hours of activity each. The individual prize was won by Nathan, who took the lead early on and proved impossible to catch with a total of just under 32 hours of activity for the challenge.
Congratulations to all who took part in this year's challenge for their impressive efforts, all while raising over £150 for our chosen charities.
